Tejendra Singh, who accompanied us throughout the tour, was exceptional in both his knowledge and his careful shepherding. His clear explanations of complex history and myth were excellent and no matter how many times he may have seen a site, he instilled a sense of wonder. Difficult situations, such as rushing to catch the train to Chittogarh, became fun, and group dynamics were sensitively monitored so that we had reasonable free time and breathing space.
